What should I do, as I bore false witness against a man, which led to his dismissal from his job?

False testimony is one of the gravest sins. The person who bears it must strive to reinstate the wronged employee to his position by absolving him before the official, or by appeasing him and paying him compensation if unable to reinstate him, so as to rectify his injustice before it is too late.
