The husband is obligated to be just between his two wives in terms of overnight stays. The wife may waive her right to division (of nights) and retract her waiver whenever she wishes.

The first wife does not have the right to demand a division (of nights) between you during your turn, merely because she came to Mecca. If she misses her right to division, it is not compensated for what she missed, according to some scholars.

It is permissible for the husband to enter upon the second wife during the day for a need, provided that his stay is not prolonged and that it is not done to harm the second wife.

If the husband wishes to travel with one of his wives, he must draw lots between them, unless the other wife consents. The wife has the right to demand this, and her waiver of her right to overnight stay does not prevent her from making this demand.
