What is the ruling on saying: "Things are going on" (ماشية الأمور) when asked about one's condition, and is it among the verbal prohibitions that require expiation?

There is no objection to saying "Praise be to Allah, my affairs are made easy" if it is intended to mean that affairs are facilitated. The servant should always attribute the favor of blessings to Allah and praise and thank Him for them, as Allah Almighty said: "And whatever of blessing you have - it is from Allah" and "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]." It has also been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that whoever says in the morning: "O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or to any of Your creation in this morning is from You alone, You have no partner. To You belongs all praise and all thanks," he would have fulfilled the gratitude for that day.
