What is the ruling on one who finds an aspect of sin in every worldly matter he approaches, such as gathering with friends? Is it permissible for him to withdraw and occupy himself with worship away from people?

What the questioner referred to regarding widespread corruption, distance from religion, and scarcity of helpers in good deeds, is a characteristic of this era. Associating with bad companions is a great danger that exposes a Muslim to evils and perils. A Muslim must invite all people to Allah Almighty, and rectify what is corrupt and straighten what is crooked. This is especially emphasized concerning family, relatives, and friends. Allah Almighty said: "Say, 'This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me.'" A Muslim should not distance himself from people or isolate himself from his brothers and friends on the pretext of their corruption, for inviting to Allah and reforming are among the greatest acts of worship. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believer who mixes with people and is patient with their harm is better than the believer who does not mix with people and is not patient with their harm."
