How did Allah command Abu Lahab to love Him when He had already informed him that he was destined for Hellfire, and Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity? And is it possible for Allah to command a servant to perform an act of worship beyond his ability?

Allah has obligated His servants to love Him more than they love anything else. Allah condemned the disbelievers for equating others with Him in love and judged them to be polytheists. The issue of disbelievers believing in and loving Allah is not intellectually impossible; rather, it is intellectually permissible, as it occurs among people like them. However, it was impossible because it relates to what Allah Almighty knew would not occur. This type of obligation was placed upon the disbelievers, even though Allah Almighty knew it would not occur from them. What is inherently impossible, such as combining two opposites, or what is habitually impossible, such as a paralyzed person walking, is not subject to obligation by scholarly consensus.
