Is it permissible to recite the Two Protectors (Al-Mu'awwidhatayn) over salt and black seed and place them in the house, carry them in a bag, or with children?

Placing salt and black seed in the house or a bag, with recitations upon them, to ward off the evil eye has no basis in Islamic law (Sharia) nor in sensory empirical evidence. It is better to avoid it lest it be from the whispers of devils. One should rather rely solely on the ruqyah prescribed by Sharia. Anything believed to be a means of repelling the evil eye, yet has no basis in Sharia or divine decree, is impermissible to adopt.
