Water alone is sufficient to purify an impurity, and nothing else needs to be used with it unless it is necessary to remove the impurity. It is not obligatory to use soap, potash, or hot water to remove a color or odor that is difficult to eliminate, unless it is absolutely necessary. The persistence of the color of an impurity on a garment is excused if its removal is impossible after washing. It is permissible to pray in a garment that is wet after being purified from impurity.
