The question

Is the Almighty’s saying: “Say: If the abode of the Hereafter with Allah is exclusively for you and not for other people, then wish for death, if you are truthful” (Quran 2:94) specific to the Jews of the Prophet’s era, or does it include all Jews thereafter?

The answer

The verse is an address to the Jews contemporary with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, inviting them to Mubahalah (mutual imprecation), by wishing for death if they were truthful in their claim that the Hereafter was exclusively theirs, to the exclusion of other people. They refrained from doing so because they knew they were lying, which proves their injustice. A similar verse is found in Surat Al-Jumu'ah, and likewise, the Prophet's invitation to the delegation of Najran for Mubahalah after their obstinacy, and their refusal of it, is proof of their falsehood.
