Is adultery considered less sinful if it does not result in pregnancy? And are the sins of adultery forgiven if the man marries the woman with whom he committed adultery?

Adultery is a major sin, and the Holy Quran has forbidden even approaching it, not just committing it, because "it is an indecency and an evil way." Illicit emotional relationships are a means to adultery. The impregnation of a woman by an adulterer is beyond his control, so no sin is attached to it; rather, the sin is attached to the act of adultery itself. Major sins are only expiated by sincere repentance. The marriage of an adulterer to the woman with whom he committed adultery is a good deed for which he will be rewarded if his intention is good, but it is not sufficient for forgiveness. For marriage to an adulteress, her repentance and purification (waiting period) are prerequisites. Whoever is afflicted by a sin is not permitted to inform anyone about it, because that is one of the impediments to forgiveness, as stated in the noble Hadeeth. When seeking a fatwa, one can ask in the third person without attributing the matter to oneself.
