What is the ruling on receiving goods from their owners in the street before they enter the auction and buying them?

It is forbidden to receive owners of goods in the street before they enter the markets, because this falls under the issue of "talaqqi al-rukban" (intercepting riders/sellers) which is prohibited by religious law, and due to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Do not intercept goods until they reach the market." This involves deception of the seller and harm to the market vendors. So, whoever intercepts their owners before they reach the market is sinful if he is aware of the prohibition. If there is proven deception (ghabn) of the seller, he has the choice between upholding the sale or annulling it.
