How authentic is the narration from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i: "They (the Companions) disliked all amulets, whether from the Qur'an or other than the Qur'an," and does it contradict his statement: "That is only disliked for the ceremonially impure (junub) and the menstruating woman"?

The first narration was reported by Ibn Abi Shaybah and Abu Ubayd with an authentic chain of transmission from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, who said: "They (the Companions and early Muslims) disliked all amulets, whether from the Qur'an or other than the Qur'an." This narration is supported by what the narrator asked Ibrahim al-Nakha'i: "I said to Ibrahim: 'Should I hang this verse on my arm: {O fire, be coolness and peace upon Abraham} [21:69] because of a fever I had?' And he disliked that." The second narration was reported by Abu Ubayd with an authentic chain of transmission from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, from Hammad, from Shu'bah, from Afif ibn Salim.
