The answer

Islam encourages the continuation of married life because the collapse of a family through divorce leads to severe harms. Perfection does not exist in human beings. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." And Allah Almighty said: ﴿And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 216] and ﴿But perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.﴾ [An-Nisa: 19]. Divorce is permissible in principle, and it may be disliked (makrooh), forbidden (haram), or obligatory (wajib). Allah encouraged reconciliation and described it as better than separation, saying: ﴿And reconciliation is best.﴾ [An-Nisa: 128]. Therefore, it is advised to hold onto one's wife and be patient with her as long as she possesses good character and religiosity.
