Is the feeling of aversion towards any action that delays prayer from its early prescribed time or from congregational prayer correct, and does this entail a lack of reward from Allah, and what is the ruling on laziness concerning prayer at its early prescribed time, and what are the rulings regarding that which is disliked (makrooh)?

Prayer must be glorified and given precedence over all else. Anything that distracts from it may be disliked or forbidden, even if it is something recommended or permissible, if it diverts one from prayer. One should hasten to perform prayer at the beginning of its time in congregation. It is not a condition for the congregation to be in the mosque, although its virtue is great. An exception to this is waiting for food.
