Are the experiences that happen to the questioner, such as inspirations and dreams that come true, and which include messages about sustenance and God's love, glad tidings of pregnancy, and warnings of dangers, from God's inspirations or from the seduction of devils? And is describing the questioner as one of those who rely (on God) or one of the seventy thousand legitimate and sound? And are the seventy thousand known in this world or in the Hereafter?

Inspiration, good tidings, and communication are possible occurrences. Some scholars have considered them a type of karamat (divine miracles/favors) with which Allah特izes some of His servants. These have occurred to some members of the Muslim community after the Prophet, peace be upon him. This is indicated by the Prophet's saying: "Indeed, there were among the nations before you people who were muhaddathun (inspired/communicated with), and if there is anyone among my Ummah (community) like them, it is 'Umar ibn al-Khattab."

Al-Manawi said: "Al-Muhaddath is one into whose soul something is cast by way of inspiration and unveiling from the higher realm, or one whose tongue utters what is correct without intention, or one with whom angels speak without him being a prophet."

Al-Tirmidhi said: "Inspiration is a form of guidance towards good, and its opposite is whisperings (waswasah). The believer should distinguish between the two."

And no matter how truthful these thoughts are, and how much they enjoin good, they must be weighed against the balance of the Sharia (Islamic law).
