Is it permissible to burn and kill jinn? Do jinn die? Do jinn take revenge on those who burn them? And how do shaykhs use verses of burning and torment to expel jinn?

The ruling on killing jinn is the same as the ruling on killing humans: it is not permissible to kill them without a valid reason. However, if they assault humans and cannot be repelled except by killing them, then it is permissible to kill them, and similarly, to burn them to repel their oppression. Some jurists have cited verses that have been tested in burning jinn. Jinn do die, as indicated by the authentic prophetic tradition agreed upon for its soundness, and by the words of Allah Almighty: "Everyone upon the earth will perish." Jinn may seek revenge on humans, especially if humans oppress them. The best way to seek protection against them is to avoid oppressing them, and to recite Ayat al-Kursy, the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), perform prayers, and make supplications. These verses strengthen faith and ward off sins that enable jinn to overpower humans.
