Will I be rewarded by Allah for having suffered from poor eyesight for ten years?

Poor eyesight is an affliction. If you endure it patiently and seek your reward from Allah, then you will receive a great reward from Allah Almighty. In the Sahihayn, it is narrated from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, said: "No misfortune befalls a Muslim but Allah Almighty expiates [sins] for him, even a thorn that pricks him." And in Sahih Muslim, it is narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, said: "Nothing afflicts a believer, be it illness, exhaustion, sickness, or sorrow, even a worry that troubles him, but Allah expiates his sins thereby."
