What is the way to get rid of inner turmoil and evil whispers that invite to disbelief, despite commitment to prayer and avoidance of prohibitions?
Whispers (Waswas) may be a trial from Allah, and resisting and disliking them is a sign of strong faith. Ibn Taymiyyah said that the trial of a believer with whispers of disbelief and his distress over them is "pure faith." To treat whispers, it is recommended to seek refuge in Allah, frequently remember Allah, recite the Quran, consistently pray in congregation, accompany the righteous, turn away from these thoughts and not dwell on them, regularly recite morning and evening remembrances (adhkar), continuously ponder Allah's creations, and persevere in repentance. There is no objection to ruqyah (exorcism) from trustworthy individuals.
