What is the ruling regarding a father's refusal to spend on his family and his hoarding of money, while compelling his children to bear all expenses?

A well-off father must spend on his wife in a reasonable manner, and this includes the expenses of her medical treatment. In this situation, the son is not obligated to spend on them unless he volunteers to do so, provided it does not diminish his wealth. We advise the father to spend on his family due to the great reward in it, and we warn him against the impermissibility of depositing his money in usurious banks. The son must honor and be kind to his parents.
