Does the reward for charity divided between the giver and the deceased reach both of them?

The scholars are unanimous that the reward of charity, supplication, and Hajj reaches the deceased, based on the hadith of Aisha in the Two Sahihs, and the hadith of Abu Hurayrah. Imam Ahmad holds that everything good reaches the deceased, including supplication, seeking forgiveness, prayer, fasting, Hajj, recitation, and other acts, as long as the intention is purely for Allah. As for singling out Friday for charity, if it is without intention, there is no harm. However, if it is done intentionally, believing that charity on this day is superior, then nothing authentic has been reported concerning that.
