What is the ruling on aborting a fetus conceived from rape during wartime, knowing that the pregnancy is 120 days old and the woman is threatening to kill herself?
A woman who is coerced into zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) bears no sin, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if they should be coerced, then indeed, Allah is, after their coercion, Forgiving and Merciful," and based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has forgiven for my Ummah (nation) mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into."
It is not permissible for her or her family to harm or kill her.
As for abortion, the soul is breathed into the fetus after 120 days. Its prohibition after the ensoulment is agreed upon among jurists because it is considered killing.
Therefore, it is not permissible to abort the pregnancy. One must be patient with Allah's decree and educate people about the rulings of the religion.
