What should a soldier do who broke his ablution with wind, but is forbidden from moving by his commander's order, and faces imprisonment if he moves? How should he pray?

The leader must permit prayer and the purity (tahara) required for it. It is not permissible to obey him if he forbids it, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. The matter must be escalated to higher authorities, and the religious ruling (hukm shari) should be explained. If he does not respond, it is permissible to perform the prayer at the very end of its time or combine it if it shares a time with another prayer, in order to avoid harm. However, if compliance would lead to the prayer being performed outside its prescribed time, then it is not permissible, and one must leave this job and seek another.
