Is it permissible to recite the supplication for purchasing an animal (dabah) over a new car, and how can there be a mountain (jabal) in a car, given that it is man-made and operates automatically and mechanically?

It is legislated to supplicate when acquiring a car by saying: "O Allah, I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for." This is an analogy based on what was reported in the Sunnah (definition) concerning the purchase of a woman, a servant, or an animal. The car is considered a means of transport from which good is hoped and evil is feared. Allah Almighty has equated ships and livestock in terms of subjugation and legislated the remembrance of Allah when riding them.
