What is the concept of a wife's obedience to her husband in matters that do not displease Allah, and does this include her undertaking all household chores and childcare, and traveling to another governorate for her work, while the husband refuses to seek help from others for some tasks despite their financial capability?

The jurists differed on the ruling regarding a wife's service to her husband. The preponderant opinion is that inner service, as is customary, is obligatory upon her. This includes household service. However, purchasing necessities is not obligatory for her. Some jurists are of the opinion that the husband must provide a maid for his wife if she is of a status for whom such service is typically provided.

Understanding and cooperation should prevail between spouses, especially if the wife is working. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to assist his wives with household chores.

If the husband is affectionate, the wife should utilize moments of tranquility to reach an understanding with him to establish principles for their interaction.

The husband is obligated to provide for his wife, and she is not obliged to work. Her service in her home takes precedence over her work if they conflict. If a wife disobeys her husband in matters where obedience is due, she is considered rebellious (nashiz), and addressing rebellion has steps, with physical striking not being the first.

Wisdom must be sought, and care taken to ensure family stability, preventing Satan from sowing discord, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Iblis places his throne upon water, then he sends forth his detachments. The one who is nearest to him in rank is the greatest in causing turmoil. One of them comes and says: 'I did such and such,' and he says: 'You have done nothing.' He said: Then one of them comes and says: 'I did not leave him until I separated between him and his wife.' He said: Then he draws him near to him and says: 'Indeed, you are the one!'"
