What is the ruling on a wife who does not obey her husband's instructions regarding a certain matter?

A wife's obedience to her husband is one of the greatest obligations, especially concerning enjoyment, based on the Almighty's saying: "Men are in charge of women..." and the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "If a man calls his wife to his bed, and she refuses to come, the angels curse her until morning."

However, her obedience is not absolute but is restricted by the following: 1. That it not be in disobedience to Allah: "There is no obedience in sin; obedience is only in what is right." 2. That it be within her capability and cause her no harm: "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity." 3. That it is obligatory only in matters of marriage and its related aspects, according to some scholars.

The marital relationship should be based on what is right (ma'ruf), good companionship, mutual understanding, and overlooking minor faults to increase affection.
