Is there a special virtue for reciting Surat Al-Baqarah for forty days for the responsiveness of supplication, or is specifying this period an innovation?

Reading the Holy Qur’an has a great reward and a significant impact on bringing happiness and answering prayers, as Allah the Almighty said in the Hadith Qudsi: “My servant continues to draw closer to Me with supererogatory deeds until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears… and if he asks Me, I will surely give him.” It is also reported in the Hadith: “Whoever recites the Qur’an, let him ask Allah by it.” The intention here is to supplicate with what is mentioned in the Qur’an or to make general supplications after recitation, and it is preferred for these supplications to be concerning matters of the Hereafter and the betterment of Muslims. However, it is not permissible to engage in an act of worship by specifying a certain surah, number, or time that has not been mentioned in Sharia, as this is among the rejected innovations. It has not been reported in Sharia that reciting Surat Al-Baqarah for forty days is a cause for prayers to be answered.
