Graphology, which is the analysis of personality through handwriting, is a form of charlatanism and fortune-telling because it claims to know the unseen. Any matter whose benefit is not known through the Sharia or reason is considered a form of soothsaying, and it is minor shirk if it relies on a cause that the Sharia has not established as a cause. Some types of personality analysis are false and considered soothsaying and divination, such as personality analysis based on a favorite color, a favorite animal, or the letters of a name, as well as personality analysis through handwriting or signature if it involves claiming knowledge of past or future matters or hidden thoughts. These analyses are based on philosophical links and alleged secrets from Eastern paganism and the predictions of soothsayers.
