What is the ruling regarding a stingy father who does not provide for his children, gets angry at their requests, dislikes their elder siblings, and treats them poorly? And what should the children do towards him?

First: The father's stinginess and bad manners do not negate his right to dutifulness, nor do they permit abandoning him. Rather, he must be treated kindly and honored, for the parent's right is great.

Second: It is permissible to advise the father with wisdom and good counsel without argumentation, or to seek help from someone influential with him to advise him, so that he may desist from his wrongdoing and fulfill his obligation of financial support.

Third: It is not permissible for the wife to go out to visit her relatives without her husband's permission, and the father must be dealt with wisely to avoid his anger.
