What is the ruling on carrying official documents that bear symbols like idols, such as the eagle? Is one who uses them for necessity, like a passport or an identity card that is commonly used in his country, considered sinful?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to carry or keep objects that bear complete images of animate beings, especially if they are sculpted or drawn, unless there is a necessity for it, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image."
