Is it permissible for an employee of an Islamic bank to conduct a Murabaha (cost-plus financing) transaction for purchasing a car, by taking money from the bank and paying it to the car owner, knowing that he is in dire need of it? And if it is not permissible, what is the proper way to purchase it?

Murabaha for the one who commands the purchase is permissible if it adheres to the controls, and this includes furniture, houses, and cars. It is permissible for a bank employee to purchase through Murabaha from the bank where he works, just like any other person. However, if the employee specializes in Murabaha, he may purchase for himself if the client authorizes him. If the intention is to sell the commodity after receiving it in order to obtain money (Tawarruq), then it is permissible. However, if the bank pays the amount directly to the person without a real sale, then it is usury (riba) and forbidden.
