Is it authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, his saying: "The Muslim is shrewd and discerning"? And what is the extent of authenticity of the story of the Jew who used to place filth in front of the Prophet's house, peace and blessings be upon him, and embraced Islam after his visit?

It was said about the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The believer is sagacious, discerning, and cautious," but this is a weak hadith. We have not come across the story mentioned. However, it is authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he would respond to evil with good, that ignorance met him with forbearance, and that he was kind to all people. He particularly extended kindness to neighbors, whether they were Muslims or non-Muslims, visiting them and offering them comfort. He once visited a sick Jewish man and invited him to Islam, and the man embraced Islam. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then said: "Praise be to Allah who saved him from the Fire through me."
