Does one afflicted by the evil eye recover with only adhkar (remembrance of God) if he begins reciting it after being afflicted?
The continuous remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and the recitation of prescribed supplications (adhkar) ward off harm from a person, whether it is the harm of the evil eye or anything else. This is because whoever recognizes Allah in times of ease, He will recognize them in times of hardship. Dhikr brings blessings and repels misfortunes. Allah defends and protects those who believe according to the strength of their faith, and the strength of faith lies in the remembrance of Allah.
Dhikr is the essence of gratitude (shukr), and gratitude brings blessings and increases them.
It is hoped for anyone who continuously remembers Allah that Allah will ward off from them whatever afflicts them, such as the evil of the eye and other harms. It is obligatory to persist in dhikr during times of ease and hardship, not solely for the removal of affliction.
If what is meant by dhikr is the prescribed adhkar, then they are sufficient to ward off the evil eye. If something from with the Quran is added, such as Al-Fatiha, Ayatul-Kursi, and the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas), then that is good, along with frequent supplication that Allah averts evil and protects from harm.
