How can a woman reconcile her desire to postpone childbearing to complete her higher education and serve Islam through translation, with her primary mission being childbearing and family care, and which takes precedence over the other? And what are the proofs of the virtue and reward of a woman who devotes herself to serving her home, children, and husband?

Frequent childbearing is a legitimate Islamic requirement, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Marry the affectionate, the fertile, for I shall outnumber the nations by you." However, there is no harm in regulating and delaying pregnancy to achieve a benefit, as is the case in delaying pregnancy to learn languages and translate Islamic books into them; this is a form of da‘wah (inviting to Islam) to Allah, and it is a collective obligation (fard kifa'i). A woman who dedicates herself to her home, children, and husband has a great reward from Allah, as is mentioned in the hadith of Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, and also the hadith of Asma bint Yazid al-Ansariyah concerning obedience to the husband and the equivalent reward. And the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, concerning the virtue of being kind to daughters, and that they will be a shield from the Fire.
