ما هو المقصود بدعاء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «اللهم أحيني مسكينًا»؟

The hadith (narration) "O Allah, make me live as a miskin (poor/humble person)" is weak; its chain of transmission is not established. If it were authentic, its meaning would be humility and submission to Allah, and it would not refer to a lack of wealth. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was a humble and devout servant. Here, maskanah (humility/meekness) is a quality of the soul, and it is the opposite of arrogance.
