Is it obligatory to make up for past prayers missed due to the inability to distinguish between purity and menstruation previously? And how is their number estimated and made up for? And is it obligatory to make up for prayers missed at the beginning of puberty due to not performing them during menstruation?

The signs of purity from menstruation are: the discharge of the white secretion (al-qassah al-bayda'), which is a white, thread-like fluid, or complete dryness of the area.

If menstrual bleeding stops and the area becomes dry, the woman has attained purity and should not be concerned with any yellowish or brownish discharge that appears afterward, based on the hadith of Umm Atiyyah: "We did not consider yellowish or brownish discharge after purity to be anything." These discharges are not considered menstruation and take the ruling of urine; thus, one should perform istinja' and wudu' for them and proceed with her prayer and fasting.

However, yellowish or brownish discharge connected to menstrual blood before purity is attained is an indication of impurity.

There is no obligation to make up missed prayers due to ignorance of the Sharia ruling.

One must not pay attention to excessive whispers and doubts regarding purity, as they corrupt worship and open the door for Satan.
