Are slight impurities that affect the body or clothing pardoned, and does this include the impurities of dogs and cats?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Some scholars hold the view that a small amount of impurity is unconditionally forgiven. Others limit this forgiveness to blood, pus, and festering matter. Sheikh al-Islam preferred the view that a small amount of impurity is unconditionally forgiven.

However, a small amount of impurity from a dog or a pig is not forgiven according to some scholars, such as the Hanbalis, because these animals’ bodies themselves are considered impure, and therefore their blood is even more so.

Cats, on the other hand, are pure animals.
