What is the ruling on the prayer of an alcoholic who prays and cries because he is unable to stop drinking alcohol?

Your love for prayer and your diligence in maintaining it are signs of the good within you. You must engage in sincere repentance, seek Allah's help, and repel the whispers of Satan. Be conscious of Allah's constant watch over you and remember that Satan is an enemy who strives to mislead you, as Allah Almighty says: (He said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [things] attractive for them on earth, and I will surely mislead them all Except, among them, Your chosen servants.") [Al-Hijr: 39-40]. Recognize the value of the blessing of intellect and preserve it. Reflect on the consequences of actions, and do not exchange a fleeting pleasure for an enduring one. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever drinks wine in this world and does not repent from it, will be deprived of it in the Hereafter."
