How can one return to Allah after an abundance of sins and calamities, so that Allah may be with him in all his actions and he may seek refuge in Him during every calamity? And how will Allah receive him and not cast him out from His mercy? What are the supplications and acts of worship that will draw him closer to Allah?

Returning to Allah, repenting to Him, and relying on Him are among the greatest means for Allah to suffice and aid His servant. And whoever relies on Allah, He is sufficient for him. The servant must have good expectations of Allah and make abundant supplications with certainty, for supplication is among the greatest means of attaining what is sought. He must also strive to perform Allah's obligatory duties and increase in supererogatory acts to attain Allah's love. Obeying Allah and refraining from disobeying Him are among the greatest means of preservation and the attainment of good, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Safeguard Allah, and He will safeguard you."
