What is the ruling on using a Saudi British Bank Visa card for purchases only, without cash withdrawals and without annual fees?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is permissible to use a Visa card if it is free from the condition of charging interest or a penalty for late payment, or issuance fees that exceed the actual cost of an uncovered card, or taking a percentage on cash withdrawals with an uncovered card (only the actual fee may be taken), or purchasing gold, silver, and currencies with an uncovered card. It is not permissible to issue the card if it contains a condition of late payment penalty, and it is not permissible for shops to add a commission to the customer when purchasing with a Visa card.
