What is the ruling on the tribal scarifications (shulūkh) that distinguish one tribe from another?

Tattooing is forbidden in Islam, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the tattooist and the one who gets tattooed. There is no difference in the ruling on tattooing between the face, hand, or other body parts. If someone did it out of ignorance, repentance is sufficient for them. However, if it is possible to remove it without harm, then its removal becomes obligatory. After knowing the Islamic ruling, one must beware of what Allah has forbidden, and this applies to both men and women.
