Is it considered forbidden to laugh at gay youth in chat rooms and make them see their pictures with the intention of deceiving them, then informing them that what happened was just a trick?

It is not permissible to enter chat rooms for homosexuals except with the intention of inviting them [to Islam], having the ability to influence them, and being safe from temptation. As for entering with the intention of mocking them, it is forbidden due to the lies and deceit involved, and associating with people of falsehood. Allah Almighty has forbidden sitting with wrongdoers and those who disbelieve in and mock Allah's verses. Also, one must avoid entering these rooms and seeing their pictures and videos due to the possibility of encountering forbidden content. A Muslim must protect himself from places of temptation. It is recommended to occupy one's time with what benefits in this world and the hereafter, and to utilize chat rooms for inviting to Allah and spreading good.
