How do Tawhid and Iman unleash the suppressed energies within a person?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Faith unlocks in the servant energies that would not have appeared except through it, and the prophetic generation is the best proof of this, as there was no material difference among them before and after the Prophethood except faith and creed. Thus, faith works wonders and unleashes energies.

Allah Almighty says: "Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error." [Aal 'Imran: 164].

And Allah Almighty says: "It is He who sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in manifest error." [Al-Jumu'ah: 2].

When faith takes root in the heart, controls behavior, and directs the servant in their principles and goals, it burdens them with the responsibility of their religion and their nation.

An example of this is the pledge of allegiance by the Ansar to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at Al-Aqabah, where they committed to supporting and defending him, despite As'ad ibn Zurarah's warning to them about the consequences of that. Yet, they remained steadfast in their pledge, driven by faith, and this is what faith did in their souls.
