The wife is not obligated to spend on the household, and she is permitted to save her salary. The husband is not required to transfer ownership of the apartment to his wife unless she contributed to its price. If the wife requests a divorce without a legitimate شرعي reason, she is disobedient and recalcitrant (nashizah), and she is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqa) or housing. The husband is not obligated to divorce her. They may agree on a divorce in exchange for compensation paid by the wife. If the husband leaves the apartment to his wife, he has reaped the enjoyment of conjugal life and the raising of children. The gold acquired by the wife is her property.
