Prayer is of great importance, and some scholars have even considered those who abandon it to be disbelievers. Therefore, he should be advised to repent, and prayers should be made for his guidance. If there is a strong presumption of sorcery, he should be treated with legitimate ruqyah (definition) (Islamic exorcism), and Surat Al-Baqarah should be recited in the house, as it is a source of blessing and protection. If sorcery is the reason for his negligence in prayer, then be patient with him and assist in his treatment. However, if his abandonment of prayer is due to his own negligence, then there is no good for you in remaining under his marital bond, and it is recommended for her to seek a khul' (divorce initiated by the wife) from him due to his abandonment of the rights of Allah Almighty.
