Is there a contradiction between the sequence of events in Surat Hud and Surat Al-Hijr concerning Lot's knowledge of the guests being angels, and why did Lot confront his people and offer them his daughters despite his knowledge of the guests' true nature, and why did the angels say, "They will not reach you" instead of "They will not reach us"?

The verse from "Hud" does not imply that Lot's people harassed his guests before he knew they were angels. And His saying: "And verily, before that, they used to commit evil deeds" refers to their actions prior to the angels' arrival.

As for Allah's saying: "They will surely not reach you," it has two meanings: The first: They will not harm Lot by harming the angels. The second: They will not reach him with the evil they threatened him with after their eyes were blinded. This reassured Lot after his despair concerning his people.

Allah diverted the disbelievers from Lot, and this is clear in His saying: "So We blinded their eyes." Because when the angels informed Lot that they were angels, he became certain that they could not be harmed, but his fear was that he would be accused of hiding them.
