Why did the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, not pass through Medina during the Isra and Mi'raj, and why was he not ascended directly from Mecca?

We do not know the wisdom behind not taking the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Night Journey (Isra’) from Medina, and there is no benefit in knowing that. As for the wisdom behind the Isra’ to Jerusalem, it includes:

1. Demonstrating the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) through what he foretold about Jerusalem and the news of the Quraysh caravan.

2. Highlighting his greatness and honor by leading the prophets in prayer.

3. Indicating the unity of the prophets in their message and goal.

4. Testing the sincere believers.

5. Relieving his sorrow and grief after the loss of his uncle and wife.

6. Demonstrating the greatness and power of Allah.

A Muslim believes that Allah possesses ultimate wisdom in everything, even if our minds fall short of comprehending it.
