Is he who prays at night with two parts of the Quran outside of Ramadan considered negligent if he continues at the same rate in Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah? And is he considered among the diligent if he persists in that until his death, or is he required to continuously ascend in worship?

The Sunnah (definition) is to dedicate the month of Ramadan (definition) to increased recitation of the Quran. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the most generous of people during Ramadan, when Gabriel would review the Quran with him every night. The recitation of the Quran further increases in the last ten nights of Ramadan, and a servant should have a good opinion of Allah, trusting in His help with acts of obedience.

Scholars have recommended performing night prayers during the nights of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. It was reported that Saeed ibn Jubair exerted himself greatly in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
