Will a person who died without leaving a noticeable trace in this world be held accountable, knowing that their relationship with Allah was strong and private?
There are several ways for a person to leave an impact in this world:
First: To leave an impact that is associated with their name and by which they are known. This is not among the objectives of Islamic law, as the objective is sincerity (). Concealing good deeds is more effective in achieving sincerity. However, it may be commendable to display good deeds for the sake of emulation if there is a benefit in it.
Second: For a Muslim to undertake actions whose impact remains continuous. This is an objective of Islamic law, such as beneficial knowledge, ongoing charity ( jariyah), and a righteous child who supplicates for them.
Third: For a servant to leave a good impact in their book of deeds with which they meet Allah. Steps taken to mosques are recorded, and a person's direct actions and the impacts they leave behind are recorded for or against them.
The wise person strives to gain a share from every bounty, hurries to perform good deeds, and follows the best of speech. Among the understanding of Islamic jurisprudence is to weigh recommended acts and prioritize the best among them, those with the greatest reward, and those whose benefit continues after death.
