Is it permissible to read books that include disbelief or mockery of the Islamic religion, such as Churchill's memoirs, for the purpose of gaining knowledge?

If the reader is an expert on the reality and methodology of the people of misguidance, there is no impediment to reading their memoirs for admonition, lessons, and to acquire intellectual skills and political sciences, citing the noble verses: "There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding" (Quran 12:111), and "So relate the stories that perhaps they may reflect" (Quran 7:176), which indicate the permissibility of learning about the stories of those who came before.
