Is it permissible for a wife who is harmed by her husband to refuse his bed and request that he marry another woman, so that she may be absolved from his marital right? And does this then negate her need for his permission regarding leaving the house and her share of the inheritance? And is it permissible for her to remain in the same house solely for the purpose of raising the children? And what is nushuz (disobedience/rebellion) and what is its ruling? And is it permissible for a husband to restrict his wife from visiting her family?

She has the rights of a wife, and you have the duties of a husband. Therefore, it is not permissible for her to leave his house without his permission, unless there is a necessity. It is permissible to waive some of these rights by agreement, with the possibility of revoking what has been waived. A wife's rebellion (nushuz) is forbidden and her financial support (nafaqah) is forfeited thereby. The husband must permit his wife to visit her family in a reasonable manner, unless he fears that they will corrupt her. It is advisable for the spouses to communicate and resolve their differences, or to seek the help of wise mediators for reconciliation.
