And does working in a hotel in one of the Gulf countries that does not serve alcohol or offer air conditioning, but does not ask for a marriage certificate to be shown, burden the worker with sin and make his earnings unlawful?

We praise Allah for your repentance and uprightness. It is permissible to work on preparing programs for hotels and tourism companies if their predominant use is for permissible things, but it is not permissible if their predominant use is for disobedience. It is permissible to work in hotels that do not serve alcohol or forbidden things and do not permit immorality, even if they do not ask for a marriage certificate, unless the exploitation of this situation for committing unlawful acts is widespread; otherwise, it is not permissible to work there then.
